Lorne Doerkson was first elected as MLA for Cariboo-Chilcotin in 2020. He currently serves as the Official Opposition Critic for Rural Development.
A long-time resident of the Cariboo-Chilcotin, Lorne Doerkson has worked in many different industries including a 20-year term in the newspaper business, followed by the automobile industry and is self-employment in financial services.
Lorne is a passionate community booster and was twice awarded the Community Booster award by the Chamber of Commerce. He has served on many boards and volunteered for a variety of local causes. Often as emcee for events and serving at an executive level on boards including the Williams Lake Stampede, The Chamber of Commerce, BC Community Newspaper Association and Hough Memorial Cancer Society.
Lorne has always had a passion for politics and has served the BC Liberal Party at an executive level for many years.
