More trade. More Jobs. More Opportunity.

Trade creates jobs and opportunity for British Columbians.

But we can’t rely on our existing trade partners alone. We have to diversify our trade portfolios in order to grow our economy, and the best way to do that is through trade deals like the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP).

By allowing unhindered access to more markets, the TPP will help our economy grow and create more jobs for British Columbians. This deal ensures B.C. businesses can compete on an equal footing with any other business in its 12-country membership.

As Canada’s Pacific Gateway, British Columbia will benefit from increased bilateral trade between North America and other TPP markets, spurring economic growth and job creation here at home. That’s why on April 13th, our BC Liberal MLAs stood up in the Legislature to ‎affirm our commitment to this major trade deal.

The NDP on the other hand? Well, once again, in true BC NDP form, John Horgan said no. No to trade. No to jobs. No to growth. But saying No all the time solves nothing, and if the agreement goes ahead without Canada the consequences could be disastrous for B.C.’s exporters – especially since two thirds of our goods are shipped to TPP member countries.

Today’s BC Liberals know that it’s only by Getting To Yes on major projects and trade deals that we can continue to create jobs and opportunity for all British Columbians.

We’re proud to stand with B.C.’s exporters in encouraging the federal government to ratify the Trans Pacific Partnership.  Do you stand with us?
