Say Anything Horgan says municipal leaders are “cowardly”
In newly released audio, BC NDP Leader John Horgan is caught on tape saying municipal leaders in British Columbia are “cowardly”.
“If this is what John Horgan is saying about municipal leaders from Metro Vancouver when he’s in the Interior, what is John Horgan saying about people from the Interior when he’s in Metro Vancouver,” said BC Liberal candidate Peter Milobar. “John Horgan was previously caught on tape saying that he wants to be all things to all people. I guess municipal leaders now know that applies to all of the promises John Horgan is making to them in this election.”
Questions BC NDP Leader John Horgan needs to answer:
- How can municipal leaders in British Columbia take seriously any of his promises to them?
- If this is how he talks about municipal leaders from Metro Vancouver while he is in Williams Lake, what is he saying about people from the Interior when he is in Metro Vancouver?
- Who do his comments apply to? Does he think all municipal leaders are cowardly, or just some of them?
- What is John Horgan saying in private to his union funders that he is not saying publicly?
Transcript of BCNDP Leader John Horgan’s comments:
“What the municipalities are begging for privately is make us build higher. In exchange for the resources to build the transit, your obliged city – Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, wherever you may be – you’re obliged to build more density. In those corridors. That’s what they want. They’re coward. They are too cowardly to ask for it publicly but they ask for it privately.” (John Horgan, Williams Lake, January 21, 2017)
