Gabe Garfinkel Wins BC Liberal Nomination in Vancouver-Fairview
Active community volunteer and business owner Gabe Garfinkel has been selected by party members as the BC Liberals’ candidate in Vancouver-Fairview for the upcoming provincial election.
“My family has called Vancouver-Fairview home for four generations, and there’s nowhere I would rather live,” Garfinkel said. “I’m running because we need an MLA who’s visible, with the energy to lead our dynamic community.”
Born and raised in Vancouver-Fairview, Gabe has always been active in his community. Gabe served recently with the Vancouver chapter of Cystic Fibrosis Canada, passionately advocating for support of people living with CF and funding critical research. As a volunteer in Vancouver’s Jewish community, Gabe has contributed his time to the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver and on the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs’ Local Partnership Council.
Professionally, Gabe owns and operates his own healthcare communications consulting business and also helps manage his family’s business supporting First Nations artists. He has served as a trusted advisor in government to Premier Christy Clark, Dr. Margaret McDiarmid, and other members of the B.C. cabinet. Prior to starting his business, Gabe was an associate vice-president at a well-respected international consulting firm.
“I will never stop fighting for our families, our entrepreneurs, and our people – because their ingenuity, hard work, and passion are the fuel for a thriving community and diversified economy,” Garfinkel added. “Together, we can deliver on local needs and priorities like affordable housing, quality health care, and excellent public education.”
Today’s BC Liberals have now nominated 77 candidates throughout the province. The provincial election will take place May 9, 2017.
