Community Builder Darren DeLuca Wins BC Liberal Nomination for Mid Island-Pacific Rim

Local realtor, hunting guide, and active community volunteer Darren DeLuca has been chosen by local party members as the BC Liberal candidate for Mid Island-Pacific Rim in the upcoming provincial election.

“It’s time for change with new energy and strong representation for Alberni, the Mid Island and Pacific Rim,” said DeLuca. “We’ve been left behind for too long. It’s time for us to be a part of BC’s economic success story – attracting investment and creating jobs while protecting our environment for future generations.”

Active in community service and non-profit efforts, DeLuca has served for six years on the Port Alberni Port Authority and is currently a member-at-large of the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District Highway 4 Transportation Committee. He is a director of the Alberni Valley Bulldogs Junior A hockey team and vice-president of the Guide Outfitters Association of BC.

DeLuca resides in the Alberni Valley Cherry Creek area and is married with 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren. He enjoys hunting, fishing, hockey, and outdoors pursuits. He supports conservation organizations like Ducks Unlimited and the Pacific Salmon Foundation, promoting education and enhancement projects that protect and conserve the environment.

“This region has given me a great life – and by running for MLA, I’m looking to give back,” DeLuca added. “We need a strong voice who will deliver for this region, and that’s what I’ll do if I’m elected.”

Today’s BC Liberals have now nominated 80 candidates province-wide. The provincial election will be held on May 9th.
