Making History

Today is a special day for us here in British Columbia: our Premier is making Canadian history.

All of us know Christy Clark as the woman who has led our government to four consecutive balanced budgets, and the best-performing economy in the country. We know her as the leader who defied pollsters in 2013 with her stunning election victory, who worked to achieve the longest-ever negotiated settlement with BC Teachers, and who has shown the world that it is possible to create jobs and grow the economy while protecting the environment.

Today, we also know her as the longest-serving woman Premier in Canadian history.  Following International Women’s Day 2016, this is something all of us in B.C. can be proud of.

I hope you’ll read Pamela Martin’s op-ed that she wrote earlier this week for International Women’s Day: Christy Clark has never been afraid of shattering glass ceilings, and share it with your friends and family.

Thank you for your support as we celebrate this historic occasion. Knowing Christy, this won’t be the last of it.
