NDP Attack Former NDP Premier

The NDP’s news release on TransLink Board members reached a new level of dishonesty today – even for the NDP.  The NDP’s claim that the board and their compensation level was chosen by the BC Liberals is 100 per cent false.  The board’s compensation level and membership was actually recommended by former NDP premier Mike Harcourt.  Here are the facts:

• The TransLink Board was chosen by the region’s mayors (council of mayors) based on the recommendations of a screening panel chaired by former NDP Premier Mike Harcourt.
• The TransLink Board’s compensation level was also recommended by the screening panel chaired by former NDP Premier Mike Harcourt.
  

In a desperate attempt to try and score political points, the NDP have attacked their own former premier and sunk to a new low in dishonest campaigning.  British Columbians are interested in honest debate not the misinformation that Carole James and the NDP continue to spread.
