The Truth on Tourism: NDP Dishonest, Destructive

The NDP are at it again, spreading dishonesty and trying to re-write the past. This time B.C.’s tourism industry is the victim. Here’s what the NDP don’t want you to know about support for tourism in B.C.:

  • The NDP’s last election platform included slashing Tourism BC’s budget by half – a $43 million reduction.
  • The BC Liberal government has increased funding to Tourism BC by 150 per cent.  
  • $25 million has been provided to UBCM for tourism projects.
  • $5 million for an Aboriginal Tourism strategy. 
  • Launched the comprehensive Tourism Action Plan in 2007.
