Premier Congratulates Team Canada

VICTORIA – Premier Gordon Campbell issued the following statement tonight congratulating Team Canada on their win at the IIHF World Junior Hockey Tournament:

“For the record-tying fifth year in a row, Team Canada has won gold at the World Junior Hockey Championship.

“Once again, I’d like to offer a special note of congratulations to the team members from British Columbia: Colten Teubert of White Rock, Brett Sonne of Maple Ridge, Jamie Benn of Victoria, and Evander Kane of Vancouver.

“On behalf of all British Columbians, I want to congratulate these young men and their teammates on their achievement. I’m sure that winning in front of the home-country crowd in Ottawa has a special significance for the team, and Canadians from coast to coast to coast are proud of their accomplishment.”
