Stockwell Day backing BC Liberal by-election candidates

Stockwell Day, former Conservative cabinet minister, is backing both BC Liberal by-election candidates (Dennis Marsden and Laurie Throness) and Premier Christy Clark's government.

"I have met both candidates and they would be excellent MLAs," said Day, who represented part of the Chilliwack-Hope riding as a federal MP.  Day believes the BC government is on the right track.

"It's no secret I'm a conservative guy. Christy Clark and Kevin Falcon have put forward the most fiscally conservative budget of any province in Canada. No other party has even put forward a plan," said Day.

"There are positive reasons to support the BC Liberal government. The fact is that a vote for the BC Conservatives will only serve to elect the NDP," said Day.

'The free enterprise coalition needs support from all of those opposed to the NDP. Christy Clark wants to build that coalition and she has my support."
