Calling all BC Liberal Student Supporters!
Are you a post-secondary student with a passion for politics? Do you want to get involved with a strong team who’s dedicated to growing the economy for your future, and who likes to have some fun while they’re at it?
Today’s BC Liberals are now recruiting hardworking, enthusiastic, and whip-smart students for the 2015 Summer Internship Program. Summer interns gain valuable hands-on experience in BC Liberal politics, strengthen their understanding of the political process, and are better prepared for future opportunities.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include administrative work, research, and writing. Summer interns also support key special events, assist with grassroots outreach, and participate in various training initiatives. There is occasional evening and weekend work involved. Fair warning: Our summer interns also have a lot of fun.
Here’s what our Intern Class of 2014 had to say about the program.
Past BC Liberal interns have graduated to work on political campaigns, and in government jobs. Take, for example, Riley Whitelock, who now has an exciting career in provincial politics. “The BC Liberals Summer Internship program is an unparalleled professional opportunity that provides hands-on experience in politics which has proven essential to my current job in government,” says Whitelock.
For Adam McPhee, a third-year commerce student at UVIC, the internship “not only benefited [his] studies at university, but it also opened doors that relate directly to [his] professional development.”
How to apply:
Applications will be accepted from students who:
- Hold a current BC Liberal membership
- Are enrolled part-time or more in a post-secondary institution.
The program runs from May 4th until August 28th at the BCL Headquarters in downtown Vancouver (remote work will be considered in special cases). Renumeration starts at $2,000 per month.
Please send your cover letter and resume to Kirsten.Hamilton(AT)bcliberals.com no later than Friday, February 13th at 5 pm PST. Please use the email subject header “Summer Internship Application (2015)”
We thank all applicants for their interest but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
