When Harry Met Carole - Does NDP Leader Agree with Harry Lali?
Vancouver – Does NDP leader Carole James agree with her Yale-Lillooet candidate Harry Lali who she is campaigning with today?
BC Liberal candidate Mike de Jong (Abbotsford-Mt. Lehman) asked Carole James to tell voters which Harry Lali statements she supports and which she disagrees with:
“We know what side we're on…Yes, we're on the side of organized labour.” – Harry Lali, Hansard, 2 Apr 1997
“I firmly believe there is a conspiracy between the RCMP, BC Television and the provincial Liberals.” – Harry Lali, Vancouver Sun, 25 Mar 1999
On the RCMP search of former Premier Glen Clark’s residence:
“[It was] a home invasion.” – Harry Lali, Vancouver Sun, 30 Mar 1999
“We are beginning to see an upward trend in the use of P3s. It's building projects all over the Lower Mainland. It's working out quite well so far…” – Harry Lali, Hansard, 20 Apr 2000
“Being an Indo-Canadian, Patty Sahota has completely abrogated her responsibility to her race.” – Harry Lali, Surrey Now, 05 Jan 2005
“The electorate has to wonder – does Carole James agree? If not, why is Harry Lali on the NDP candidate slate?” de Jong said. “Harry Lali represents another reminder that nothing about the NDP has changed – it’s the same old faces, with the same old bad ideas that will take B.C. backwards.”
