Elections BC upholds mandate to keep voters list
current and accurate

British Columbia has maintained a continuous voters list for more than 70 years, and the first jurisdiction in Canada with a computerized voters list. Voter registration and list maintenance are important parts of our day-to-day operations.

Voter registration information must include a voter’s name, date of birth and residential and mailing address. The Election Act restricts the use of the voters list, and voters are assured that their personal information will be protected.

Registered voters can update their registration information online, by fax, mail, telephone or by visiting Elections BC or their local Service BC – Government Agent.
