Nearly doubled the number of child care spaces receiving operating funding to 87,000.

We’ve dramatically expanded early learning opportunities through StrongStart BC centres and are now examining day long kindergarten for 5 year olds and optional kindergarten for 3 and 4 year olds.

The unemployment rate for women is half what it was in the mid-90s.

The median weekly wage for women in B.C. has grown at twice the rate of men's since 2001.

We've expanded support for women leaving abusive situations to over 100 communities.

 

The NDP Record

Carole James and the NDP voted against funding for women's services.

Carole James and the NDP are opposed to directing money towards transition houses, counselling and outreach programs and would instead put funding into women's centres that don't provide direct services.
