Letter to Sparwood Residents

To the residents of Sparwood:

I was deeply saddened to hear of the eight Sparwood-area men who lost their lives in Sunday’s avalanches. On behalf of the people and government of British Columbia, I offer my heartfelt condolences to their families, friends and to the entire community.

It is impossible to convey my profound sorrow and deep sympathy in a way that can bring a measure of comfort to the loved ones these men left behind. Our hearts go out to you all in this extremely difficult time.

While you mourn as individuals and as families, please remember that you are not alone in your grief. I urge you to draw upon one another’s strengths and the strength of the community around you for support.

You are each in our thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,

Gordon Campbell
Premier of British Columbia
