Peace River North

We need your help to keep BC strong. The BC Liberal team values your time and every minute you participate can make a big difference before and during the campaign. When and how much of your time you are able to contribute is completely up to you. If you are interested in any of the following, your local campaign team will be in touch with you to make arrangements and provide more information.

I would like to volunteer to:
Drop off information in my neighbourhood.

Campaign teams coordinate specific dates where volunteers distribute important information throughout their neighbourhoods. If you are interested, someone from your local campaign team will contact you to provide more information on when and how this is done.
Host a coffee party that will introduce my candidate to my neighbours.

A coffee party is an opportunity for people to meet your local BC Liberal candidate in a small, casual setting to discuss issues that are important to them. If you are interested in hosting a coffee party, your local campaign will be in touch with you to help make arrangements. You should think about a location and the number of people you would like to invite. Typically coffee parties host between 10 and 20 people. The campaign team can help you coordinate coffee, snacks and information to distribute.
Research and monitor campaign issues.

This is your opportunity to help the campaign research issues and information that are important to the local campaign. Typically volunteers for this kind of work are computer friendly and have some knowledge about the local community and issues.
Assist the fundraising committee.

Help your local campaign team approach individuals and businesses you know in the community who would be willing to make financial contributions to support the BC Liberal plan.
Provide support around the campaign office.

There are a number of jobs that need to be done on a daily basis in a campaign office, each of them equally important. Volunteering in the office could mean answering phones, phone canvassing to identify supporters, helping with mail distribution, coordinating and distributing campaign signs, photocopying and assembling literature or even picking up supplies and other volunteers.
Help on Election Day – May 12, 2009

There are a number of important jobs on Election Day. They include:

·Getting out the vote: People who help pick up and take voters to the polls so they can vote. This also includes phoning people who have been identified as BC Liberal supporters to remind them to get out and vote. On a campaign, such people are known as runners, drivers and canvassers.

·Scrutineer: A scrutineer observes voting at a polling station and/or observes the counting of ballot papers, in order to check that election rules are followed.

·Runners and drivers: People who help pick up and take voters to the polls so they can vote.

·Phoning: People who phone BC Liberal supporters to remind them to get out and vote.

·Support for other volunteers: This can consist of driving scrutineers to their polling stations and taking them lunch, or other volunteer support activities.

Take a lawn sign during the election.

Put a sign in your window or on your lawn to show support for your local BC Liberal candidate.
